We have prepared for you the TOP-5 of the most interesting places that you can visit on a motorhome!

Resort town Marmaris

One of the most visited places in Turkey is the port city of Marmaris on the Mediterranean coast. The geographical position of this resort reliably protects it from storms and strong winds – the city stretches along the bay. Here the Mediterranean meets the Aegean.

For those who wish to relax in silence, we recommend visiting the national park and walking in the suburbs.

Goreme National Park (Cappadocia)

Lovers of secluded relaxation should definitely visit another outstanding landmark of Turkey – Goreme National Park.

On the territory of the national park, you can see many historical buildings, among which there are a huge number of cave churches and monastic structures. Here you can see amazing rock formations.

From VI-IX centuries. there were about 400 churches in the area of the national park, which made it one of the largest Christian centers.

An extraordinary panorama opens at the foot of a 60-meter cliff, which became the Uchisar castle-fortress, located at an altitude of 1400 meters above sea level.

The cave systems of Kapadokkia and Goreme Park, which have survived to this day, are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Duden waterfalls (Antalya)

One of the main attractions of Turkish Antalya is the Duden waterfalls, part of the karst system. In total, the natural site with picturesque landscapes includes three waterfalls:

  • Upper Duden (waterfall of Alexander the Great);
  • Lower Duden (Karpuzkaldyran);
  • Kurshunlu.

The cascade of waterfalls is formed by the source of the Duden River thanks to karst springs. For tourists, the entrance to the Upper Duden is paid. Here you can see the waterfall on a specially equipped area.

13 km downstream of the river, the Duden waters from a height of 40 m flow into the Mediterranean Sea. It is this waterfall that is called Lower Duden. Nearby there is a recreation area, illumination of the waterfall at night. Tourists are allowed to enjoy the scenic view for free.

Pamukkale

There is, of course, a scientific explanation for the natural phenomenon of Pamukkale. But I absolutely do not want to think about thermal waters saturated with calcium carbonate or about limestone deposits. All this is best left to scientists. In this place, you need to enjoy a natural miracle or “cotton castle”, as the Turks call this place. Snow-white cascades of thermal baths, descending with ledges downward, attract millions of tourists every year. It offers magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and fields.

Efes

Another ancient city on the territory of modern Turkey. The city is known primarily for the fact that it was home to one of the seven wonders of the world – the Temple of Artemis. Unfortunately, the temple has not survived, only a few columns remain from it. But the rest of the buildings on the territory of Ephesus are amazing. The most famous building in the city is the Celsus Library. The two-tiered facade with columns looks more like a theater building than a library.

There is also a theater building in Ephesus; the auditoriums could accommodate up to 25,000 people. Today, every tourist can feel like a visitor to an ancient Roman theater and sit on stone benches. Walking along the stone slabs of antiquity, on one of them you can see the footprint of a person. This trail pointed to a brothel, built in honor of the goddess Aphrodite. In addition, the remains of ancient Roman baths, the Temple of Hadrian, numerous columns, remains of residential buildings, bas-reliefs, and pits for prisoners have been preserved in Ephesus.
